Alleged murderers and rapists arraigned

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Three Bahamian men and one Haitian male appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt on an array of charges on Friday past.

Joey Scott, 33, of Golden Gates was charged with the murder of Lamont Fisher, who was killed on May 7, 2019 on Dominica Way.

Rosemond Etienne, 22, of Wilson Track was also charged with the murder of Kyle Rolle and the attempted murders of Lenardo Farrington, Rodeler Raymonvil, Marvin Brown, and Geraldo Joseph. This incident occurred on May 14that Plantol Street.

Police said Rolle was sitting outside of a residence on Plantol Street, just a few corners south of his family residence on Toote Shop Corner.

Authorities said Rolle was with a group of four other men when they were all approached by a group of men who were armed with handguns.

The assailants reportedly opened fire on the five men, according to police reports.

Rolle was shot dead and the remaining four were rushed to hospital for medical attention.

Kevin Archer, 20, was charged with one count of assault with the intent to rape.

All three defendants were not required to enter a plea and were denied bail.  They were remanded to The Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until August 13thfor a Voluntary Bill of Indictment.

Also, 25-year-old James Basil Stubbs of Ethell Street was charged with rape.

Stubbs was not required to enter a plea and was denied bail. He has been remanded to The Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until July 30th for a Voluntary Bill of Indictment.
