Advance Polls Take Place Today for Golden Isles By-Election

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Advance polls take place today for the Golden Isles by-election. According to the Parliamentary Registration Department, 283 residents out of some 8,000 registered voters in the constituency are eligible to vote in the advance poll today.

The poll will be held at the Remnant Tabernacle Church beginning at 8 a.m. and ending at 6 p.m.

The advance poll was originally designed for members of the armed forces who could not vote on election day due to national duties, but has since evolved to include poll workers, political party agents, senior citizens, and voters with medical or travel needs.

Four candidates are vying for the Golden Isles seat left vacant by the late Vaughn Miller: Progressive Liberal Party candidate Darron Pickstock, Free National Movement candidate Brian Brown, Coalition of Independents candidate Brian Rolle, and independent candidate Karen Butler.
