The government introduced a three-day public financial management seminar Monday at the Melia Resort.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of finance, Peter Turnquest told Eyewitness News that the conference comes from a need to strengthen the newly drafted Fiscal Responsibility Bill.

Turnquest also said the forum, which brings together leaders from various government ministries and agencies, will allow for development and sharing of ideas that can ultimately lead to the establishment of best fiscal management practices.

Turnquest said the government has invited regional help to ensure that the best possible governing public finances is engineered.
