RBC to reopen on Saturdays with new banking services for clients

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Royal Bank of Canada (RY on TSX and NYSE) (RBC) announced yesterday that it will reopen its doors on Saturdays with a new banking service for clients, beginning July 17, 2021.

Saturday banking will initially be offered at RBC’s Cable Beach, Prince Charles and Carmichael Road branches.

RBC’s Saturday banking services will now focus on helping clients with more complex, advice-oriented needs like mortgages, loans, lines of credit and savings. On Saturdays, cash will only be available through ATMs and deposits can only be made at ATMs and through the non-stop depository service.

In addition, clients may also use Saturday hours to come to the branch to speak with a representative to get more comfortable with digital banking, the RBC mobile app and RBC’s ATMs.

Managing Director and Head of Personal Banking, The Bahamas and Turks & Caicos, LaSonya Missick said: “We are reimaging how we provide Saturday banking services in The Bahamas. By opening on Saturdays for these more complex, advice-oriented needs, we are providing our clients with more flexibility and added convenience when making some of life’s biggest financial decisions.”

The bank will also use Saturday hours to conduct educational sessions to offer clients information about adopting digital services and managing finances through life events.

RBC’s Cable Beach, Carmichael Road and Prince Charles branches will be open every Saturday starting July 17, 2021 from 9am to 3pm. These locations will continue to operate as full-service branches Monday to Friday.
