“Economic recovery will be led by the private sector, in partnership with the public sector”
NASSAU, BAHAMAS — The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Group’s Country Office Bahamas recently launched its 2021 Bahamas Business Leaders Series with a virtual meeting attended by CEOs of leading local companies.
The discussion centered around identifying and fostering opportunities for economic growth and recovery as the country looks to emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event featured presentations by Daniela Carrera Marquis, country representative for IDB Group in The Bahamas, and Dr David Rosenblatt, the IDB regional economic advisor for the Caribbean.
Charlene Lewis-Small, investment officer for IDB Invest in The Bahamas, moderated the discussion that followed with attendees who represented a wide range of industries.
Carrera Marquis noted: “The IDB Group believes that economic recovery will be led by the private sector, in partnership with the public sector. We are always interested in sharing IDB Group knowledge products, hearing the views of the private sector and supporting their investment and growth plans through our financing arm, IDB Invest.
“The dialogue that we held serves as a platform for exchanges around future topics of importance to the private sector.”
The discussion is the first in a series of similar events focused around bringing executives in The Bahamas together to explore economic challenges throughout various industries and growth prospects.
