Doctors Hospital: Increased testing key strategy in COVID-19 mitigation strategy

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Doctors Hospital chief executive Charles Sealey said yesterday that increasing COVID-19 testing wherever possible is a key strategy in mitigating the spread of the virus.

The BISX-listed healthcare provider recently expanded testing accessibility to the Town Centre Mall.

Sealey said: “As all nations have to consider how we are going to live with this COVID-19 pandemic we need to find strategies to battle it.

“One of the ways is to ensure that we increase wherever possible testing protocols so that we can increase our mitigation strategies.

“Our job is to make it easier. Moving testing it to a central location makes it easier for people to get there,” he continued.

“For those nations that have been successful in this fight, we can learn from. We don’t have to reinvent the wheel.  What they have done significantly is to test the population and make it affordable.

“Our job is to get The Bahamas back to a level of normalcy where growth and productivity can occur. We have an important role to play and we take it seriously.”
