Four more deaths, 91 new COVID cases

Total COVID-19 cases just shy of 5,000

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Three more people have died as a result of COVID-19.

According to health officials, two men, ages 71 and 66, of New Providence died on October 8.

A 58-year-old man of New Providence also died on Thursday.

There was another death that was being investigated, according to the Ministry of Health.

Additionally, health officials said the death of a woman, 33, of New Providence on September 30, has been reclassified from non-COVID-related to a confirmed death.

The deaths increase The Bahamas’ death toll to 106.

Deaths under investigation now stand at 14, while there have been 18 non-COVID-related deaths.

Health officials also confirmed 91 more cases of COVID-19 in The Bahamas — 82 in New Providence, one in Grand Bahama, one in Bimini and seven cases with locations pending.

Total cases now stand at 4,955.

Of those, 2,093 remain active.

Another 2,724 cases have recovered, 78 more than the day before.

There were 112 hospitalized cases.

There have been 3,742 confirmed cases in New Providence, 654 cases in Grand Bahama, 157 cases in Abaco, 55 cases in Bimini, 33 cases in Exuma, 25 in Eleuthera, 19 in Inagua, 17 in the Berry Islands, 12 cases in Long Island, nine in Andros, nine in Cat Island, seven in Acklins, five in Crooked Island, three in Mayaguana, and 208 confirmed cases with locations pending.

To date, 24,251 tests have been performed.
