NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Police are investigating an alleged drowning after a woman was found unresponsive in waters near Rose Island.
The woman’s body was reportedly discovered by a group of snorkelers, who were swimming in waters off Green Cay shortly after 2pm.
Superintendent Shanta Knowles said: “According to reports, shortly after 2:00pm, a group of persons were snorkeling in waters off Green Cay near Rose Island, when a female was discovered unresponsive and floating in the water.
Knowles said: “She was retrieved from the water and transported to hospital where she was pronounced dead. An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.”
