Jones, Sun trail 2-1

NASSAU, BAHAMAS- Jonquel Jones and the Connecticut Sun are now on the brink of elimination in the 2019 Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) Finals after falling 94-81 to the Washington Mystics on Sunday.

Jones, after dominating game two, scored nine points and pulled down nine rebounds in the loss in 32 minutes of action.

With the win, the Mystics took a 2-1 series lead and have the chance to win the WNBA title on Tuesday night.

“I think they were hitting tough shots. I know for me a couple of times, I went out on top to Toliver on a switch and I felt like in the space and they just hit tough shots,” Jones said about the loss.

Mystics center Emma Meesseman led all scores with 21 points in the win. League MVP Ellen Delle Donne also added 13 points and six rebounds.
