Two men were arraigned yesterday on three separate counts of murder.
Twenty-five-year-old, Stephen Volter, stood before Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt accused of the February 15 murder of Matthew Mortimer.
Volter was not allowed to enter a plea.
Eighteen-year-old, Deante Pinder, was charged with two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.
He stands accused of the murder of Rashad Bethel on February 15 and Deshawn Symonette a day later. He is also accused of the attempted murder of William Brown.
Pinder was also not required to plead. He and Volter have been remanded until April 18.
In other court news, 25-year-old, John Panaway, of Suriname was bought before Subusola Swain yesterday and charged with possession of dangerous drugs, namely cocaine with the intent to supply.
Panaway was also charged with importing dangerous drugs. He pleaded guilty to both charges.
Suriname was stopped at Lynden Pindling International Airport shortly after he arrived from Jamaica. Police say Panaway was acting suspiciously and was subsequently stopped by police.
It was then when they found $900 on the suspect but no drugs. He was still arrested and taken to Princess Margaret Hospital where he excreted a number of capsules containing cocaine weighing one pound, six ounces.
Panaway was sentenced to 72 months in prison for each charge, which will run concurrently after which the judge ordered that Panaway be deported.
