NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The annual Best of the Best Regatta wrapped up on Sunday at the Montagu foreshore.
The New Legend claimed the ‘A’ class title with Running Tide and Ed Sky finishing second and third respectively.
In the ‘B’ Class, Susan Chase was the winner, followed by Eudeva and the Lonesome Dove. And in the ‘C’ Class, the New Slaughter beat out It Ain’t Right and Xena for the title.
“Essentially we are building on what has been done before. I’m proud of the work that has been done by my immediate predecessor, Renward Wells, along with his committee that was made up by public servants and those external from the ministry.
Also, I have to also say that I’m proud of the Alfred Gray who started the event under the previous administration,” said Minister of Agriculture and Marine Resources.
“This is continuity in governance in doing at least two things, helping to build the stature in regattas and moving toward making sailing the national sport.
“On the land side, we ensure that we are displaying the best in Bahamian culture. From food, musical performances and crafts, we want to ensure that our culture is on full display when we host these events.”
The ‘Best of the Best’ Regatta is the final regatta for the calendar year. The Bul Reg ‘C’ Class Regatta will open the 2019 regatta season in January in George Town, Exuma.
