NASSAU, BAHAMAS Aztec Airways is accelerating its push across the out islands of The Bahamas with the launch of nonstop service to Great Exuma (GGT), marking the latest step in the carrier’s growing regional footprint. The inaugural flight departs Sunday, November 16, 2025, from the airline’s private terminal at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), reinforcing Aztec’s strategy of strengthening direct air links between South Florida and the Family Islands.
The new route follows a year of steady expansion, during which the airline has broadened partnerships, boosted local engagement, and focused on deepening its presence across the archipelago. In recent months, Aztec has teamed up with leading Exuma resorts, increased local employment opportunities, and gathered traveler feedback to tailor its offerings to the market.
“Great Exuma is truly one of the crown jewels of the Bahamas,” said Stuart Hanley, Founder and CEO of Aztec Airways. “We are thrilled to begin service there and to continue doing what we do best—providing reliable, easy travel to the Out Islands.”
The expansion comes as travelers seek more dependable, personalized service amid shifts in global travel demand. Despite industry-wide volatility in recent years, Aztec Airways has positioned itself as a stable and customer-focused option for routes often underserved by larger carriers.
Launching just ahead of the busy holiday travel period, the Great Exuma service — operating every Thursday and Sunday — underscores Aztec’s commitment to connecting communities, supporting island economies, and delivering seamless access to the natural beauty of the Bahamas year-round.
