Authorities seize 81 pounds of suspected marijuana

NASSAU, BAHAMAS- In a joint operation called “Operation Blitz,” involving the Royal Bahamas Police Force, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, and the Department of Immigration, officers seized 81 pounds of suspected marijuana valued at approximately $81,000 on Cowpen Road.

Preliminary reports state that around 11:00 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2024, officers, acting on intelligence, discovered and confiscated multiple crocus sacks containing large quantities of suspected marijuana from an unfinished structure on Cowpen Road.

No arrests have been made, but police are pursuing significant leads in the case.
