NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Royal Bahamas Police Force (RBPF), in an effort to keep the general public updated on its investigation into an alleged bribery scandal which reportedly involves a former top cop, released a brief statement on Thursday morning; the communication indicated that authorities will remain tight-lipped on details concerning the probe to prevent compromising the investigation.
“It is announced for general public information that, upon advice and in order not to compromise the investigation into the voice notes with regard to the former Head of the Criminal Investigations Department, there will be no further public statements about the investigation until the investigation is complete, except to confirm from time to time that the investigation is still ongoing,” the statement said.
“The public is assured that the investigation is proceeding with integrity and dispatch.”
Authorities have not yet confirmed to Eyewitness News if the international investigators from the National Crime Agency, who were due in New Providence between August 14 and 17 to assist with the high profile investigation, ever arrived in country.
