Man arrested after drug confiscation

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Police officers from the Cable Beach Division confiscated a large quantity of suspected marijuana and arrested a 31-year-old male on Tuesday, August 20, 2024.

According to preliminary reports, shortly before 6:00 p.m., officers, acting on information, conducted a search of a vehicle that was parked at a beach off West Bay Street, where they discovered a quantity of suspected marijuana. The vehicle owner, a 31-year-old male, was arrested.

Additionally, officers searched the suspect’s home in Tropical Gardens, discovering multiple packages containing a large quantity of suspected marijuana weighing 15.8 pounds, with an estimated street value of $15,800.00. The Drug Enforcement Unit will conduct further investigations into this incident.
