NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Utilities Regulation and Competition Authority (URCA) hosted a virtual Public Consolation for Natural Gas Framework Thursday morning; the objective of the public consolation, which started August 1, 2024, is to help the wider population have a better understanding of the overall proposed framework which came into effect on June 1, 2024 under The Natural Gas Act, 2024.
According to URCA Corporate and Consumer Relations Manager Juan McCartney, “The framework was developed in partnership with Frontier Economics and is aimed at safeguarding the country while providing access to affordable , reliable and resilient energy.”
The public consultation period will run for 30 calendar days; responses to this consultation should be submitted to URCA on or before August 31, 2024 via email at info@urcabahamas.bs.
