In the wake of the outbreak of conch poisoning in New Providence, the Arawak Cay Vendors Association has hosted a sanitization workshop Thursday to ensure that all vendors at the popular tourist hub are up to speed on what steps are necessary to mitigate cases of conch poisoning.
Vice President of the association Lilian Smith told Eyewitness News yesterday that the association found it necessary to bring the vendors into an intimate learning environment to teach the importance of cleanliness in their various business establishments.
Vendors were encouraged to ensure that they wash raw conch at least three times in fresh running water before meal preparation begins.
