OVERLOOKED NO MORE: Young woman launches business networking event to uplift aspiring entrepreneurs

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Wanyka Diogene, the 18-year-old CEO of The Entrepreneurial Blueprint, is taking a major step in her career and wants to uplift other Bahamian entrepreneurs along the way.

Diogene will host “Entering Serial Spaces”, an event at Atlantis Grand Ballroom that aims to introduce the Business Networking industry to all entrepreneurs in The Bahamas on April 2 at 7pm.

The focus is to help entrepreneurs build professional, local, and international relationships with business owners providing opportunities for those interested in a new beginning.

She said: “This will be my first major step in my career, and it will focus on uplifting entrepreneurs in The Bahamas and granting the opportunity to meet new people, form relationships, and gather advice.”

The goal is turning the Entrepreneurial Blueprint into an agency that will provide a chain of connections in the network marketing world for Bahamians.

Diogene believes this event will be the starting point.

“Persons should attend the event to sustain long-term connections that are guaranteed to not only scale their business but their entire lives…”, she said.

Along the way, Diogene said she faced challenges obtaining sponsorship and had to reschedule the event.

Although she had put in for scholarships three weeks in advance, Diogene said sponsors were unable to locate her information causing her to restart the process.

This resulted in her missing two potential sponsors with Aliv and BTC, but she didn’t give up.

She began learning about E-Commerce and followed her passion by becoming a makeup artist and hair braider at 16-years-old but the venture proved unsuccessful.

This pushed her to create an early morning routine to gather new ideas daily with her partner Natalea Bain.

“The mindset that I instilled into myself was to never stop learning,” she said.

Diogene said: “Since graduating R.M. Bailey Senior High, I’ve applied to numerous jobs and never received a callback. Because I’ve never had a job before, I came to the realization that starting a business on my own would go a long way.”

Being overlooked and underestimated due to her age, she said: “I want to encourage young adults to accomplish their goals and be successful without having to hear it’s ‘only’ because you know that person”.
