The Bahamas Volleyball Federation (BVF) on Thursday named the 12-woman team that will represent the country at the Caribbean Zonal Volleyball Association (CAZOVA) Senior Championships in Suriname.
Competition is set to begin June 28 and will run through July 5. The team is aiming to qualify for the Caribbean Volleyball Championships (CVC) next summer.
The team will be coached by Covance Mortimer, with Margaret Albury serving as team manager.
BVF secretary Crystal Forbes said, she’s confident this year’s team will represent The Bahamas well at the event.
“I am sure that the team traveling will do well against the competition,” Forbes added.
“We feel the team is a pretty good one, even though we can only rely on a select few players to lead the way in experience.”
A total of 14 teams from around the Caribbean will be competing in the event.
Team Bahamas comprises:
Brittany Bonamy
Melinda Bastian
Ashley Webb
Brittany Deveaux
Eugenie Adderley
Tia Charlow
Janelle Curtis
Rachel Knowles
Je’Nae Saunders
La’Tavia Braynen
Chandra Mackey
