NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Police in Abaco are investigating a boating incident that left a 27-year-old female seriously injured on Thursday 04th July, 2024.
According to initial reports, around 10:00 a.m., the operator of a 27-foot vessel departed from Grand Bahama en route to Turtle Cay, Abaco, but while navigating waters near Fox Town, Abaco, struck a reef, throwing the victim overboard, who sustained serious head injuries upon impact.
A nearby vessel rescued the female, as well as all of the boat’s occupants, bringing them to shore, police said.
The victim was taken to the local clinic, but she will be airlifted to New Providence for additional
medical attention, authorities confirmed.
Investigations are ongoing.
