Some 250 employees of Bahamas Power & Light (BPL) will separate from the company, after their voluntary separation packages (VSEP) were approved, the head of the bargaining unit for line staff confirmed.
President of the Bahamas Electrical Workers Union (BEWU) Paul Maynard told Eyewitness News yesterday, that of the 314 employees who applied for VSEP, more than 250 have been approved.
Maynard also disclosed that the last day with the company for many of them is this coming Friday.
However, he pointed out that some employees are being released with certain conditions.
