2019 Elevation Awards release nominees

NASSAU, BAHAMAS- The Elevation Awards recently hosted an online nominee release for the 2019 Elevation Awards on Live Up TV via Facebook.

Leading the list of Nominees is Bahamian Rapper TonAsh and Wendi with four Nominations followed by Bahamian Artist and Rappers Patrice Murrell, Foots and Twindem with three nominations.

Also, Bahamian Gospel Artist and rappers Kenyatta Taylor, Eman and Johnny B lead with three nominations in the Gospel categories.

The event was hosted by Ewurabena “Rabs” Appiah, Jerchovia Moxey and DJ Epic Forealz.

The Elevation team added seven new categories to next year’s award show such as; “Radio Talk Show of The Year”, “Gospel Artist of The Year”, “Gospel Music Video of The Year”, “Hip-Hop Artist of The Year”, “Hip-Hop Song of The Year”, “TV Series of The Year” and the “Bahamian International Award” bringing the total to 27 categories.

“We are excited about this year’s awards adding over 25 categories this year. My team and I would like to congratulate all of this year’s nominees and we will continue in our efforts to provide an opportunity and platform for rising and established entertainers,” said Elevation Awards CEO Vincent McDonald Jr.

The Lifetime Achievement Award recipient is Bahamian Artist Ira Storr.

Hosting next year’s award will be Bahamian Comedian and Radio Personality Naughty.

Tickets are now on sale at a cost of $75 online or at the Elevation Media Office, Cable Beach.

In addition to keeping with Elevation’s vision to develop and promote the best in Bahamian entertainment, The Elevation Awards has partnered with CSB Tech Emporium Ltd. launching a brand new mobile app that let fans and supporters of local artists record amazing videos while lip syncing to Bahamian songs and using unique filters. Fans would be able to share these videos on all major social media platforms. The first playlist of songs will be added to the app from Nominees for next year’s awards as well as past Elevation Award winners.

The 2019 Elevation Awards will be Saturday, April 6, 2019 at The Melia Hotel, Cable Beach.

The awards show was established by Elevation Media Group to celebrate the accomplishments of Bahamians in music, acting, sports, community building and other fields of entertainment within the past year.

The primary goal of the awards is to assist in the development of the Entertainment Industry in The Bahamas.
