Announcer’s booth at old stadium goes up in flames

Fire officials responded to a reported blaze at the Thomas Robinson Stadium shortly after noon on Sunday. Due to prevailing winds, Fire Chief, Walter Evans, told EyeWitness News that additional resources and man power were sent to the location.

The fire caused extensive damage to the announcers booth and seating in the surrounding area.

Evans confirmed that security guards were on site but the cause of the fire has not been determined. The stadium was not in use at the time and the fire was contained. Investigations are ongoing.
