100k gallons of water delivered to Eleuthera

play-sharp-fill

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Member of Parliament for Central and South Eleuthera, Clay Sweeting, revealed to Eyewitness News that over 100,000 gallons of water safely arrived in Eleuthera at the end of last week.

This delivery is expected to relieve the stress on residents who have been experiencing extreme low water supply issues for several months.

Sweeting explained that the subcontractor, AquaDesign, also brought a permanent unit to the island. Installation is currently underway, and once completed, the unit will be operable, allowing other units at the water plant to undergo much-needed maintenance.

Residents of Eleuthera have voiced their concerns to Eyewitness News in recent weeks, noting that the water supply is so low that it is barely enough for them to complete basic daily chores. Some entrepreneurs are frustrated that their businesses have had to shut down due to the lack of water, threatening their livelihoods.
