Urban Renewal Centres nationwide held back-to-school fairs for children on Friday, August 31, 2018.

The focus this year was the distribution of coupons for the purchase of school textbooks, redeemable at selected bookstores.

The event featured food, fun, and giveaways; bouncing castles, face painting, hot dogs, games, and back-to-school supplies.

Minister of Social Services and Urban Development the Hon. Frankie Campbell told children gathered at the Centreville Urban Renewal Centre that he believed in them.

“Your parents believe in you, and the government believes in you. You are the future,” the Minister remarked.

All Urban Renewal Centres throughout the country held similar events to distribute school supplies in an effort to prepare the nation’s children for the upcoming school year.
