Union Leaders have joined forces to demand resolutions to a number of outstanding challenges plaguing the Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH).
Union Leaders for Water and Sewage Corporation (W&SC) , Bahamas Power and Light (BPL) and the Straw Market among others, all arm in arm supporting on some immediate action over the pending issues plaguing physicians.
According to Dr. Locksley Munroe, president of the Consultant Physicians Staff Association (CPSA), members will not wait any longer.
“In terms of the medical and surgical ward, those places are disasters – our CT scan has been down, our laboratory services have been inadequate for, I don’t know how many years,” Munroe complained.
“These deficits have gone on for more than 10 years, despite recommendations made.”
He continued, “The government of the Bahamas needs to know that today the CPSA stands united, to bring an amicable resolution. We’re not saying you have to meet all of our demands but at least meet us half way
President of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) Obie Ferguson promised a trade dispute along with a strike vote by the end of the week.
