Two still on the run from Simpson Penn

Minister of Social Services and Urban Development Frankie Campbell.

Authorities have confirmed that two escapees from the Simpson Penn School for Boys are still on the run.

Thirteen boys escaped the reform school on Saturday through an opening in the roof of their dormitory, authorities told Eyewitness News.

Minister of Social Services & Urban Development Frankie Campbell said Monday that he is disappointed that so many young men managed to successfully escape the compound.

He said his ministry is now in a reactive mode and a major overhaul is forthcoming.

Campbell told Eyewitness News that police are conducting their investigations and his ministry will decide if, and how, the caretakers who were on duty during the time of the escape, will be reprimanded.
