Two men killed in separate traffic accidents on Saturday

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Two men are dead following separate traffic accidents that occurred on Grand Bahama and Abaco on Saturday.

Police reported that shortly after 6pm on Grand Bahama, a 2004 white Mercedes Benz with one driver and a red 2012 Honda Accord Coupe with three occupants got into an accident on East Sunrise Highway and Waterfall Drive.

The Fire Department was called to assist in extracting the drivers of both vehicles using the “Jaws of Life”.

Police said a man driving the Honda Accord died on the scene and the other two passengers were taken to the Rand Memorial Hospital via ambulance, where they are both listed in serious but stable condition.

The man driving the Mercedes Benz was also taken to hospital and is listed in serious but stable condition.

On Abaco, police said shortly after 11pm a man driving a 2000 T-Rex Queen Truck on S.C Bootle Highway just east of the little Abaco Bridge, apparently lost control of the vehicle and overturned.

He was reportedly ejected from the vehicle.

The victim was taken to the Marsh Harbour Clinic where he was later pronounced dead.
