Two men charged with sexual assault of teenage girls, 13 and 15

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Two men were arraigned in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday on charges of unlawful sexual intercourse with two underage girls in separate incidents.

Godfrey Gray, 37, and Jean Pierre, 27, appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt.

Gray was charged with three counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl between October 1 and December 5.

He was represented by Attorney Ian Cargill, who notified the court that his client was held in police custody for more than a week and was allegedly beaten in custody.

Pierre was charged with one count of unlawful sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old.

Bail was denied for both men and they were remanded to the Bahamas Department of Corrections.

They are both expected to return to court on April 21, 2021 for the service of a Voluntary Bill of Indictment.
