Team Bahamas finishes CAC with seven medals

Team Bahamas wrapped up its time at the 2018 Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games in Barranquilla, Colombia on Thursday night, competing in several events.

On the track, the men’s 4×400-metre (m) team finished fifth overall in 3:07.31. The team was made up by Michael Mathieu, Stephen Newbold, Alonzo Russell and Kenneth Thompson. Over on the field, Kaiwan Culmer was sixth in the final of the men’s triple jump with a leap of 16.24m.

In basketball action, team Bahamas lost 90-76 to Mexico in the fifth and sixth placement game. Kentwan Smith led The Bahamas with 21 points on 7-for-13 shooting from the field. Michael Bain Jr. added 12 points and Samuel Hunter chipped in with nine.

And in tennis, Kerrie Cartwright and Danielle Thompson lost in two sets to Andrea Weedon and Daniela Schippers, from Guatemala, in the women’s team classification bronze medal match.

Team Bahamas finished the games with a total of seven medals, including four gold, two silver, and one bronze.
