While public debate suggests that Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) needs to do a better job at protecting its client assets, Minister of Finance Brent Symonette suggested that cardholders should consider being more vigilant to protect their own interests.
Last Monday, thousands of dollars went missing from various client accounts at the bank. The brazen cybercrime happened without a hitch leaving law enforcement clueless as to exactly what happened and who is behind the crowd.
RBC’s international office spoke to the issue noting that they were working to address the problem, while the local office has yet to respond to the issue.
