The woman accused of killing former well-known body builder Paul Melbourne was charged with murder Wednesday, as her family and friends stood outside the court house in a show of support.

Tracey Pratt, 43, stood before Magistrate Subusola Swain accused of killing Melbourne, 70, at his home in Miller’s Heights.

Prosecutors maintained that Pratt got into an argument with the 70-year-old, when she stabbed him to death.

Pratt who is allegedly Melbourne’s girlfriend was not required to plead.

The judge later ordered her sent to the Department of Corrections, where she will await trial. Her case is expected resume on May 15.

Pratt’s legal team mentioned to the judge that she had been suffering from severe stomach pains since she had been arrested and asked that she be allowed to see the prison doctor while locked up.

Pratt is said to be recovering from a recent cancer tumor.

Outside the court waiting for Pratt to walk out were her family members who were seen consoling one another while shouting,  “Be strong Tracey …”, and “ … Justice will be served”.
