Samsung Electronics has officially launched the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ in stores around The Bahamas, with the company’s latest flagship smartphones on shelves as of Friday, April 6.

Terry Weech, sales manager for Latin America said, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ introduce an array of innovative features to the Galaxy series.

“We are excited to announce these new phones,” he said.

“The device will be able to capture everything that you can imagine and give you power in the palm of your hand.

“With this device, we put a smart phone around a camera. We took a camera and we designed a phone around it. So, the camera is the most powerful. With the S9+ there is dual camera, key features include super slow motion to capture those moments when they happen. We have our own customizable augmented reality (AR) Emoji’s which is amazing.

“Your audience can also make their own emoji’s and not only does it share likeness it also shares their expressions. So, for folks if they are feeling down, bummed, excited most of the time you scroll through the internet looking for someone else’s. If not, we can express it in ourselves.”

Other enhancements include immersive, AKG-tuned stereo speakers, which complement the refined infinity display, and deeper integration with Samsung’s intelligence platform, Bixby.

Weech said when designing the camera, the team focused on three key points.

“It needed to be capable of recording dynamic video – the type of content that the younger generation loves to consume,” he said.

“As well as it needed to be able to capture low-light photos, which should be a fundamental feature of any camera; and it needed to be easy to use and offer fun new features.”

The latest Galaxy duo is also said to deliver an enhanced entertainment experience with powerful stereo speakers and a refined edge-to-edge Infinity Display – a key staple in Samsung’s design heritage.

In addition, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ will come with the new SmartThings app, which unites Samsung’s existing Internet of Things (IoT) services into one single, smart experience.

The Galaxy S9 and S9+, also take health to the next level with an improved optical sensor built directly into the device, providing richer, more accurate information on users’ health status. The sensor is said to allow the phones to keep track of users’ heart load factor, a new measurement of the real-time demand placed on the heart.

The phones are offered in midnight black, titanium gray, coral blue and a new hue, lilac purple.
