Rose appointed acting PMH administrator
Princess Margaret Hospital

Managing Director of the Public Hospitals Authority (PHA), Catherine Weech, on Wednesday, revealed that the post left vacant by former Princess Margaret Hospital Administrator Mary Walker, is currently being filled by Sonia Rose.

Weech confirmed that Rose is currently sitting in an acting position until the PHA is able to fill the position.

“We do not have an update as far as the post being filled, but we will be moving forward with the advertisement process for the post to be filled shortly,” Weech said.

PHA, via a press statement issued earlier this week on Sunday, revealed that Walker had been removed from her position and transferred to the Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre.

Walker will fill the post of hospital administrator at Sandilands left vacant by Ruth Albury who begins pre-retirement leave this month, capping 46 years of service.

Walker has given 40 years of service to public health, with 15 in a managerial capacity.  She was appointed hospital administrator at PMH in 2013 under the former Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) administration, where she served in that capacity until her recent removal.

Weech gave no timeline of when the PHA expects to fill the administrator role with a permanent replacement.
