Rockets host Bahamas training camp

The Houston Rockets hosted its preseason training camp in The Bahamas this week at the Kendal Isaacs National Gymnasium.

The team was in the capital a little over a week, and both staff and players expressed their content with the hospitality and facilities. The team resided at the Baha Mar resort during the course of the stay.

“It was really great to be able to come down here and use the facilities. This experience has been nothing but amazing,” said Rockets forward Carmelo Anthony.

“Our stay here has been phenomenal. I can speak on behalf of my teammates and the staff, saying that everyone here has shown us nothing but respect. The hospitality was great, and I definitely can see this happening here on a consistent basis.”

Rockets guard Chris Paul added: “I can definitely cosign with everything that Carmelo said about the stay here. Everyone has been gracious here, from the staff at the hotel to the staff at the Sports Authority. We thank everyone for allowing us to be here.”

The Rockets finished last season as runners-up in the Western Conference, falling to the Golden State Warriors in seven games. Rockets guard James Harden was named regular season MVP, while reserve guard Eric Gordon was in the running for the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) Sixth Man of The Year Award.
