RMS Insurance Hole-in-One Tournament set for Friday

NASSAU, BAHAMAS- The 2019 Bahamas Professional Golf Tour (BPGT) Signature Golf Classics swings into the fourth round with the RMS Insurance Hole-in-One Tournament at the Royal Blue Golf Club, Baha Mar resort on Friday, September 27, at 2.30 p.m.

The BPGT is proud to have RMS Insurance as this round’s title sponsor. RMS Insurance provides coverage for residential and commercial properties including automotive and marine insurance. The company sponsored last year’s million-dollar hole-in-one tournament and continues its support of the tour in 2019, with two golfers having the chance at winning the million-dollar prize.

Earlier this month, the northern Bahamas was greatly affected by Hurricane Dorian. The BPGT has decided to donate all the proceeds from this round to aid Hurricane Dorian relief efforts.

In addition to RMS Insurance, SuperClubs Breezes Bahamas, Sun Tee, Graycliff Cigar Company, Bentonite Beauty Clay, Peter Minnis Designs, the Royal Blue Golf Club, Bahamas Waste Ltd. and R&E Imports and Sales have also come onboard as sponsors. Collectively, they are assisting to further develop and advance professional golf in The Bahamas.

After three rounds, Grand Bahamian Greg Maycock surpassed tournament organizer Riccardo Davis and is the sole leader in the money purse standings. Davis sits in second place and sitting in third place is Keno Turnquest on the money purse ladder.

Davis missed the second and third rounds due to an injury, but it appears that he will be teeing off in this round.

Maycock shot three under par 69 to win the third round in August, the Breezes Classic, last month. Turnquest and Matthew Cox were tied for second place with a score of two over par 74.

In the amateur division at the Breezes Classic, Lynford Miller, president of the Bahamas Golf Federation, finished at the top of the leaderboard with a score of six over par 78. Andrew Marolla and Anthony Hinsey were tied for second, scoring seven over par 79 in the amateur division.

Golfers are being encouraged to take advantage of reduced playing rates so that they can contribute toward this needy cause. The cost for professional golfers is $175. The prices for amateurs and junior golfers are is $125 and $50 respectively.
