The United States on Tuesday made a sizeable donation to the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF), which will go toward the protection of the country’s borders.
Amounting to $1 million in equipment, the donation will allow the force to conduct better patrols with a new 25-foot sea response boat, a trailer and an F-150 truck.
Presented by U.S. Charge D’Affaires Stephanie Bowers, the donation also came with a two-week training programme to ensure that officers know just how to use the equipment.
National Security Minister Marvin Dames accepted the gifts on behalf of the RBDF.
