Princess Cruise ships gets upgrade in Freeport

The Grand Bahama Shipyard is celebrating its assistance in a $450 million investment to upgrade features of the Princess Cruise Ship.

The new upgrade is a part of the cruise lines, “Come Back Promise New” campaign.

According to the President of Princess Cruise Lines Jan Scwartz, the upgrades were always apart of the plan.

“Crown Princess first debuted in 2006 with several industry-first offerings, including our revered adults only,” Scwartz said.

“Now, 12 years later, we’re continuing our commitment to offer Crown Princess guests the next revolution of signature Princess product innovations while they cruise to their bucket-list destinations.”

Enhancements to the cruise ship include those most intimate to guests:

The Princess Luxury Bed – developed by Princess Cruises in collaboration with the board-certified sleep expert, Dr. Michael Breus and HGTV designer Candice Olson.

Club Class Mini-Suites – premium stateroom category features VIP amenities and exclusive dining.

Camp Discovery Youth and Teen Center – for cruisers ages 3-17, created in partnership with Discovery TM.

Casino – New carpets, light fixtures, and bar TV screens.

The cruise ship is based out of Barcelona, Spain and holds a guest capacity of 3,080. It was last refurbished in 2011.
