Police recover illegal firearm from derelict refrigerator and track road

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Police in the capital recovered two illegal firearms in separate incidents on Wednesday, May 29, 2019.

In the first incident, according to police reports, shortly after 2:00p.m. on Wednesday, South Western Division Officers, acting on information, went to a track road off Carmichael Road and conducted a search of a derelict refrigerator and recovered a .380 pistol, a .45 pistol and one round of ammunition.

No arrest was made in this incident and investigations are ongoing.

In the second incident, according to police reports, shortly after 11:00p.m. on Wednesday, Drug Enforcement Unit Officers, acting on information, conducted a search through a track road off Eneas Street, and recovered a .357 revolver and one round of ammunition.

No arrest was made in this matter and investigations are going.
