Police recover illegal firearm and ammunition, male in custody

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Police recovered an illegal firearm from the streets of New Providence on Saturday.

According to police reports, shortly after 10:30 p.m., Flying Squad Officers and Officers of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, acting on information, conducted a search of a male who was on the outside of a local bar on East and Lewis Streets.

Their search led to the recovery a .38 revolver and two rounds of ammunition.

The male was taken into custody and he is expected to be formally charged before a magistrate court this week.
