Police in New Providence recovered a quantity of dangerous drugs from the streets of New Providence on Wednesday.
According to police reports, shortly before 6:00 p.m., Mobile Division Officers, while on patrol on Baillou Hill Road, observed a male walking behind a building. The male, upon seeing the officers, began acting in a suspicious manner and began to run.
Officers gave chase after the man and saw when he threw a package to the ground, jumped a fence and made good his escape. The officers recovered the package and found it to contain suspected marijuana.
The suspected marijuana weighed two pounds and has a street value of $2,000.00.
Investigations are ongoing.
