Police investigate three separate shooting incidents

Latest incident recorded Sunday evening in Pinewood Gardens

 

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Police on the Island of New Providence are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the persons responsible for three separate shooting incidents that occurred over the weekend.

The latest incident unfolded Sunday in Pinewood Gardens.

According to police reports, sometime after 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, an adult male was walking with a female companion when occupants of a Toyota pulled up and occupants discharged shots in their direction, hitting the male.

The male ran to his residence on Cascarilla Street and Emergency Medical Services were called.

Police said he was later transported to the Princess Margaret Hospital.

Police are also investigating two separate shooting incidents which occurred on Friday, March 22, and left two adult males hospitalized.

In the first incident on Friday past, police reported that shortly before 6:00p.m. on Friday, a man was sitting in his vehicle on Rupert Dean Lane in the area of a business establishment, when he was approached by a lone male who produced a firearm and shot him before making good his escape.

The victim was transported to hospital where he is listed in serious but stable condition.

Police said investigations into this matter are ongoing.

In the second incident on Friday past, police reported that shortly after 11:00p.m. on Friday, a man was sitting in his vehicle on Plantol Street when he was approached by a male armed with a firearm who shot him. The victim, however, was able to drive to a nearby residence, where he was assisted to the hospital.

The victim is presently listed in stable condition.
