Police identify GB drowning victim

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Police on Monday officially identified the man who drowned on Thursday, May 14 in Freeport Grand Bahama as Lenward Jermaine Black of #64 Frobisher Circle.

According to police reports, shortly after 9:00p.m. on Thursday, police were called to Portacall Drive on Bahama Terrace near the canal, where they discovered a white truck submerged under water.

Officers of the Police Marine section with assistance from a private vessel and crew, hoisted the vehicle out of water and recovered the body of a lifeless male.

Police said investigations will continue into this matter, and an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.
