Members of the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) renewed its call for a commission of inquiry during a press conference at PLP headquarters on Sunday.
The move follows damning allegations, revealed in an affidavit and filed by lawyers representing Former PLP Cabinet Minister Shane Gibson.
The affidavit suggests gross interference by police and that two of the meeting’s witnesses – Deborah Bastian and John Ashe – have both allegedly been tainted.
According to document transcripts – based on recorded meetings – the witnesses were allegedly approached by police and were told what to do and what to omit from their statements.
PLP leader Philip Davis yesterday said, the next system can be contaminated by said allegations.
Davis demanded that the government do an immediate investigation of its own.
He added that both the prime minister and attorney general must answer for the allegations.
