Outback invests $2 mil in expansions

Company set to branch out to Turks & Caicos, western New Providence

An estimated $2 million is said to represent the New Providence expansion of the Outback Steakhouse brand, which is also opening a branch in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

The new location will follow the August 20 opening of the company’s expansion into the Turks and Caicos.

“We’ve been hard at work over the last year to bring the brand into the Turks and Caicos,” said Christopher Mortimer, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Outback

“We’re very excited about the progress we’ve made and are looking forward to a successful launch later this month.”

Construction will begin this fall on Outback Bahamas’ western New Providence location, with an unveiling set for Mother’s Day 2019.

“Over the next several months, residents in the west will get to see the new restaurant take shape from the ground up,” he explained.

“We are so happy to be able to give our customers who live in western New Providence, the great food, great price and service which they have come to know and love, a little closer to home”.

According to Mortimer, the New Providence expansion will create hundreds of jobs in both the construction and post-construction phases.

“The country’s current economic environment is without question the most difficult to face Bahamian businesses in recent years,” he said.

“In this age, where many businesses have found it difficult to stay afloat, we’re happy to have the support of the local community”.

Since July 2013, the Outback Steakhouse brand has been serving up Australian-inspired food favorites with a Bahamian twist.

Through the continued support of its loyal customer base, the company said it has continued to “bloom”, offering its customers a superior dining experience in a safe and family-friendly environment.
