NPBA Action heating up

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The New Providence Basketball Association (NPBA) continued with its regular season on Saturday night at the A.F. Adderley Gymnasium.

In Division II play, the CARO Contractors Resistance defeated the CARO Contractors Titans, 120-108.

Antonio Hanna led the Resistance with 27 points. Marcian Higgins chipped in with 16 and Kamal Murphy added 15. Ball movement was a key factor in the win. The Resistance had 29 assists, compared to just 18 from the Titans.

There were also a pair of Division I games played on Saturday night. In game one, the Discount Distributors Rockets edged the CARO Contractors Pirates 97-92. Cordero Pinder led the Rockets with 21 points, while Christopher Stuart had a game-high 25 points in the loss. In game two, the PJ Stingers beat JD’s Seafood Shockers 87-62. Brian Bain had 17 points for the Shockers in a wire-to-wire victory. The Stingers outrebounded the Shockers 72-53 in the contest.

NPBA action continues today with a pair of games. In Division II play, the LENO Eagles Nest takes on the Triple K Stampers, while the Pros go against the University of The Bahamas in Division I action. Both games will be played at A. F. Adderley beginning at 7 p.m.
