Employment in the country has increased by 2.2 per cent, according to the latest labour force figures released by the Department of Statistics on Friday.
While employment has increased overall, officials from the department indicated yesterday that there had been no significant change in the unemployment figures from November 2017 at 10.1 per cent until May of this year at 10 per cent.
Senior statistician Cypreana Winters explained that, in Grand Bahama and Abaco, unemployment increased but there was a slight dip in those figures for New Providence.
The survey also indicated that more men are employed than women and that vulnerable employment declined by 10 per cent and now stands at 7.1 per cent.
An official, comprehensive report is expected in September.
