NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Former Michigan State University (MSU) guard Lourawls Nairn is now taking on the game of basketball from a new angle, working in the Phoenix Suns’ front office in the player development department.

Nairn, who was best known for his leadership skills in college, was working on becoming a professional player himself when he was offered the opportunity to become a part of the Suns’ organization.

“It was kind of a crazy thing,” he said. “A week-and-a-half before the draft they called me and just loved what I did in college and wanted me to be a part of the organization.”

Nairn said he has enjoyed his experience working with some of the younger players on Phoenix’s roster so far.

“Just being able to touch the players and work on their skill development is a blessing,” he added.

As a collegiate player, Nairn was awarded the Stephen G Scofes Inspirational Player Award for three straight seasons.

He also released his autobiography entitled, “Purpose Driven” in July.
