POLICE are on the hunt for the person responsible for a shooting incident that left one man dead late Wednesday night.
The murder, which, occurred shortly before 10 p.m. in West Ridge, took the country’s murder count to 11 for the year, according to Eyewitness News records.
Police say the victim was standing in front of his residence off Munnings Drive when he was shot multiple times by an unknown assailant.
When officers responded to the scene they discovered the lifeless body of a male, lying in a pool of blood. He was taken to hospital by ambulance where he died of his injuries a short time later.
The victim has not been officially identified.
The shooting death comes days after 45-year-old, Okel Solomon, was shot to death during a failed car jacking.
Police say, Solomon showed up at the Southern Police Station shortly after 11 p.m. on February 3, after being shot during an attempted robbery.
He told police he was in his car at the junction of East Street and Brougham Street when he was approached by two men with firearms who demanded he give them his car.
Solomon refused and attempted to speed off however he was shot by one of the suspects.
He was taken to hospital by ambulance where he died a short time later.
