More drugs and weapon seized

Police officers on Exuma made a successful drug seizure in Harts Settlement over the weekend.

Officers of the Exuma Division of the Royal Bahamas Police Force (RBPF) said, acting on information, they went to a beach in Harts Settlement shortly after 2:00 p.m. Friday.

The search, according to officers, uncovered a five-gallon bucket which, contained a quantity of suspected marijuana.

Officers said no arrests have been made in connection with the matter.

Investigations are underway.

Meantime, a little over 24 hours later, Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) officers on Grand Bahama said they recovered a firearm in bushes.

The discovery, officers said, was made in a bushy area known as Terminal Road.

According to DEU reports, officers discovered a .380 pistol along with a magazine.

No arrests have been made, however, the DEU has confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
